Michelle Pfeiffer is setting the record straight after comments about not wanting to star in another movie sparked speculation that she was ready to retire.
The 68-year-old actress recently made headlines when she said she “never wants to star in another movie,” leading some fans to believe she was preparing to step away from acting after nearly five decades in Hollywood.
But Pfeiffer says that wasn't what she meant.
Pfeiffer Says She Was Misunderstood
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Pfeiffer addressed the retirement rumors head-on.
“They're always saying that I'm retiring. I never said [that],” she told host Jimmy Fallon.

Why Pfeiffer Loves Television
Michelle Pfeiffer Pfeiffer has appeared in two major television projects this year: The Madison and Margo's Got Money Troubles.
The actress said one of the biggest advantages of working in television is having more time to develop a character.
“It's wonderful to be able to live with a character for such an extended period of time,” she explained.
Pfeiffer added that television allows her to “really just go deeper and find all of the different layers” of a role.

Pfeiffer is also serving as an executive producer on both shows.
Pfeiffer Stars Alongside Elle Fanning
Based on Rufi Thorpe's novel, Margo's Got Money Troubles centers on a young single mother, played by Elle Fanning, who turns to OnlyFans as a way to support herself and her family.
Pfeiffer portrays Fanning's mother in the Apple TV series, which also features Nicole Kidman and rapper Rico Nasty.
Season 1 of Margo's Got Money Troubles is currently streaming on Apple TV.
She's Also Part of Taylor Sheridan's The Madison
Pfeiffer's other major TV project is The Madison, a contemporary Western created by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley Have Hollywood Covered
Pfeiffer's recent television focus may also hit a little closer to home.
She's been married to television powerhouse David E. Kelley since 1993. Kelley is behind some of TV's biggest hits, including Doogie Howser, M.D., Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, and Boston Public.
Kelley also serves as showrunner for Margo's Got Money Troubles, marking the first time he and Pfeiffer have worked together professionally.
So while Pfeiffer isn't retiring anytime soon, it sounds like she may simply be enjoying the opportunity television gives her to spend more time getting under the skin of her characters.
