For better or worse, Brooklyn Beckham knows how to get people talking. The 27-year-old has shared his love of cooking on social media for years, but his recent recipe led to him getting roasted in the comments.

In what was likely a joke, Brooklyn grabbed a large pot and walked onto the dock. “Of course we get some pasta water,” he said before dunking the pot into the sea and scooping up the seawater.
From there, Beckham got to work on his dish, chopping cherry tomatoes before sautéing them in oil with garlic. He then reached for his own Cloud23 hot sauce, pouring it over the tomatoes before eventually adding the cooked noodles.
Brooklyn later sat down with another chef to taste the finished product, and they both looked pleased with the creation. The internet, however, was ready to roast him like a Thanksgiving brisket. While Brooklyn was likely rage-baiting, he probably wasn’t expecting things to get so personal.
The most liked comment reads, “When his dad was the same age, he’d won the treble and just signed for Real Madrid. But tomato pasta is a pretty good achievement too.” “Is there no beginning to his talents?!” Another person wrote.
“Pasta water with a hint of burnt boat fuel please sir,” one person joked. “He's an actual chef playing along so he doesn't get fired,” another wrote.
“Tomorrow I’m making corn flakes,” someone else added, while another quipped, “In the second episode, I’ll be making a cup of tea.” One commenter simply asked, “Brooklyn, can you show me how to make a glass of water next?”
© Mike Egerton - PA ImagesAn Italian even entered the chat, writing, “I’m Italian, and pasta water is not sea water… You have to use water and then add salt once it is boiling.” People then found a way to bring his family drama with one person writing, “he needs to make amends with his parents next.”
Of course, there were plenty of people convinced the whole thing had to be a joke. “He's just rage-baiting at this point,” one person wrote. “There’s no way this is serious,” another added.
But not everyone understood why Beckham was receiving so much hate for simply making a meal. “Why the hate to this boy that is only cooking,” one person asked.
“Why does everyone just hate on him in the comments? It’s actually so sad. Hope you all find peace one day,” another defended him. “Why are y'all so evil to him??” a third person added.
© Getty Images for ARIA Resort & CThe reaction is nothing new for Beckham, who has been posting cooking videos for years and has become something of an internet punching bag in the process.
In 2023, he admitted that the criticism surrounding his cooking videos no longer bothered him. “To be honest, I’m used to the hate,” Beckham told Insider at the time. “It doesn’t really bother me.”
“Cooking makes me happy,” he added. “I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me.” While he's not on speaking terms with his parents, he shares the same passion with his dad, David.
The retired soccer star is famously the family cook and has previously poked fun at Victoria Beckham’s skills in the kitchen.
Brooklyn, however, credits his nanny. “I actually learned how to cook my first dish with my nanny, Peggy,” he told FOOD52. “I hold her very close to my heart, and it just reminds me of her every time I cook.”
