Melanie Griffith is enjoying the summer in LA. On Monday, the Oscar-nominated actress was spotted taking her German Shepherd for a walk through her neighborhood.

The 68-year-old kept things casual in a white Fred Segal T-shirt, sandals, sunglasses, and distressed denim shorts as she enjoyed the sunny afternoon.

Griffith is usually spotted at a few events every year

While Griffith spent decades as one of Hollywood's biggest stars, earning an Academy Award nomination for Working Girl and starring in films including Something Wild, Pacific Heights and Nobody's Fool, these days she appears to be embracing a slower pace of life.

She last starred in her daughter Dakota Johnson's film The High Note in 2020.

She never announced an official retirement from acting, but she has shared some of the problems she saw in the industry. In 2020, she called out Hollywood's obsession with “youth and beauty" telling Fox News it's a “very superficial place."

The World Girl star went on to open up about her experience getting older, saying, “It is what I never thought would happen when I was in my 20s and 30s, hearing actresses b**** about not getting any work when they turned 50." “Now I understand it; it is just different," she continued.

Career aside, family has remained at the center of Griffith's life. In addition to Dakota, whom she shared with her ex-husband Don Johnson, she shares son Alexander Bauer with ex-husband Steven Bauer and Stella with her ex-husband, Stella Banderas.

Over the years, she's proudly supported each of their careers and frequently celebrates their accomplishments, whether attending premieres or sharing heartfelt tributes on social media.

Following their divorce in 2015, she has reunited with Banderas multiple times, and they have always been an incredible example of coparenting at its best.

While Banderas found love again with his longtime partner Nicole Kimpel, Griffith never remarried. Back in 2016 following the split, she told PEOPLE, "I haven’t met one person that I want to go out with, not one guy."

But she seemed optimistic at the time, saying, “I imagine there are some out there somewhere; hopefully I’ll meet one.”

Then, in 2018, during an interview with InStyle, she opened up about the idea of marriage, saying, “I really don’t think it’s relevant for anyone anymore." “But especially if you’re 60 and you have four kids, and you’re living the life you’ve always wanted. Then why get married? It’s like, I would love to fall in love and have a romance, a relationship, but I haven’t. I keep looking. I’ve had a couple of lovers but not a relationship.”
