Violet Affleck shows off her height in red shorts on summer break LA outing

Violet Affleck is enjoying her summer in Los Angeles. The eldest daughter of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck is on her summer break from Yale University, spending her days off in her hometown. In new photos, Violet was spotted with a friend, showing off her impressive height in an adorable and summery outfit.

Violet was spotted wearing a white T-shirt with a little apple on it and some red short shorts. She completed the look with a colorful handbag and some reading glasses with red frames.

She was accompanied by a friend, who wore a white top and black pants. The two were photographed at Caffe Luxxe in Brentwood. They were then seen walking out together. 

Violet's summer in Los Angeles occurs as she prepares to continue her education at Yale University, where she'll soon start her junior year.

Violet just experienced a hard loss

Earlier this year, Violet lost her grandmother. Chris Affleck, the mother of Ben Affleck, died after a battle with cancer. According to a source, the death has affected Ben and his brother Casey Affleck deeply. 

"Losing your mom is an unimaginable loss at any age, and they’re grieving deeply," said an insider to PEOPLE. Still, they made it clear that Ben and Casey are "surrounded by an incredible support system."

In the case of Violet, she seems to be following in her grandmother's footsteps. Chris was an activist, becoming involved in numerous cultural and social issues, among them the Vietnam War and advocacy for Palestine.

In recent years, Violet has been involved in numerous activist causes, becoming a notorious public advocate for health issues. "We are told by leaders across the board that we are the future," she said in an address to the United Nations. "But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes."

"For adults, the relentless beat of back to normal, ignoring, downplaying and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long COVID manifested in a series of choices," she continued. "Young people lacked both real choice in the matter and information about what was being chosen for us."

Violet has also spoken about global warming, publishing an essay titled "A Chronically Ill Earth: COVID Organizing as a Model Climate Response in Los Angeles" on Yale Global Health Review. The essay discusses the California fires and her generation's growth alongside these natural disasters.
