Kylie Jenner’s friend Victoria Villarroel shades ex Callum Turner after newfound fame with Dua Lipa

Victoria Villarroel is making headlines after resurfaced podcast comments led fans to believe she was talking about her rumored ex, Callum Turner, and how dramatically his views on fame have changed since marrying Dua Lipa.

The influencer and former assistant to Kylie Jenner never mentioned Turner by name during an episode of her “Better Half” podcast with Anastasia "Stass" Karanikolaou. However, listeners quickly connected the dots after the clip resurfaced following Turner and Dua Lipa's recent wedding.

Victoria Villarroel Says Her Ex Didn't Want a Public Life

During the podcast, Villarroel described a former British boyfriend who reportedly insisted he wanted nothing to do with celebrity culture. “Your ex-British boy—the way that he was with you and the things that he said he wanted and didn’t want out of his life compared to him now is a complete 360,” Anastasia said during the episode, titled “Breakups Suck.” She added, “A full turnaround, the 180 opposite of what he said with you.”

She recalled that he repeatedly said he would never date someone who attracted paparazzi. “Who were you then? Were you lying to me?” she asked. “This man would be like, ‘I would never date somebody who gets paparazzi’d, I would never date a famous person, I would never go to the Met Gala, that’s corny.’”

She also claimed he preferred keeping their relationship completely private and didn't want to appear on her social media.

Those remarks have drawn attention because Turner and Dua Lipa have become one of entertainment's most visible couples, regularly appearing together at red carpet events, fashion shows, and the 2025 Met Gala.

Fans Believe She Was Referring to Callum Turner

Although Villarroel never identified the ex, several details fueled online speculation. She described him as British and revealed that he is now married to someone famous. She also shared that he met his now-wife while they were having dinner together in London.

That story appears to align with Dua Lipa's previous recollection of first meeting Turner during a dinner at The River Café in London, where she said he was dining with friends while she was eating with her father. 

From Private Relationship to Public Romance

Turner and Dua Lipa first sparked romance rumors in early 2024 before making their relationship public. Since then, they've become frequent fixtures at award shows, fashion events, vacations, and public appearances.

The contrast between Villarroel's account and Turner's current lifestyle is what has captured fans' attention. According to Villarroel, her ex once rejected the very celebrity culture he now appears to embrace.

Social Media Is Divided

The resurfaced clip has sparked debate across social media. Some fans believe Villarroel's comments suggest Turner completely changed after entering a relationship with one of the world's biggest pop stars.

Others argue that people naturally evolve and that different relationships can change someone's priorities. Some also pointed out that dating an influencer and dating an internationally famous musician are different experiences, which could explain the apparent shift. “She's an influencer. I think there's a meaningful difference between being posted for income-generating content on your less-famous partner's social media, and being posted on your equally-famous partner's social media. You can look at it as ‘he didn't see a future with her' and therefore was more private, but I think there's an equal concern he might have had that she viewed their relationship as a way to gain clout and expand her audience,” a person said on Reddit.

"I totally empathise with Victoria’s hurt. Especially bc he met Dua out to dinner when they were together. I think it’s her right to express this bc it’s part of her story. With luck, she’ll meet someone who will proudly hold her hand and be her person," another added.

"When he said that he ultimately meant he wouldn't do those things for her. All relationships have conditions, and they're clearly different for Dua," a third said.

Despite widespread speculation, it's important to note that neither Villarroel nor Turner explicitly identified each other when discussing their past relationship. Likewise, Dua Lipa has not addressed the resurfaced podcast clip.

For now, the renewed interest remains based on fan theories fueled by similarities between Villarroel's story and publicly known details about Turner's romance with Dua Lipa.
