Jessica Simpson is probably getting hit with a slew of DMs after expressing that she could be open to the idea of someone shooting their shot on social media. There's just one caveat.
The singer gave a surprisingly open answer while arriving at LAX on Tuesday, June 23. When asked by TMZ how she feels about guys sliding into her DMs, Simpson wasn't opposed to it.
“Is that a bad way for them to do it?” the photographer asked. “No,” Simpson replied. And when asked whether her DMs were open, the 45-year-old seemed more than receptive. “Sure,” she said, before adding one requirement: “I mean, if you’re verified, maybe.”
The playful exchange has fans wondering whether Simpson is fully back on the market. She was reportedly dating musician Thomas Eisenhood just a few months ago.
Back in April, reports surfaced that Simpson had quietly moved on following her split from ex-husband Eric Johnson and was dating Eisenhood, a Nashville-based musician and touring saxophone player.
The two reportedly met through mutual friends in the music industry and had been spending time together in Nashville, where Simpson has a second home.
At the time, a source said Simpson was “happy,” in a “great place,” and excited about her future. But her latest comments seem to point to a breakup.
Since her divorce from Eric Johnson, Simpson has been refreshingly candid about what she wants, and doesn’t want, in her next relationship.
Following her January 2025 split, Simpson made it clear she wasn’t closed off to love. During a 2025 appearance on TODAY, when asked whether she was interested in dating, she didn’t hesitate. “I’d totally jump on that,” she said. “Yes, I’m single… I’m ready.”
As for what catches her attention, Simpson has said she wants someone secure in themselves and is confident, but not arrogant. “I just like for somebody to be individual, who they are, and exude confidence without the ego,” she said. “It’s hard to find, but I feel like it’s out there.”
And then there’s the more flirtatious requirement she famously shared. “It has to be a very good kisser,” she said. “That’s like the most intimate thing.”
Simpson is in the midst of a comeback era and will be on the road in June before crossing the border and bringing the magic to Mexico City fans on October 1st.
She confirmed last month that she has a "very special project" in the works, and all signs point to some kind of documentary.
