More details about Diaz and Barrymore's friendship
Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore have been friends since they were girls. The two have one of Hollywood's most famous friendships, collaborating in movies together, among them, the "Charlie's Angels" movies.
Over the years, the two have shared details of their dynamic and how they've managed to remain in each other's lives through relationships and all sorts of life developments.
In 2021, in an Instagram Live, Barrymore shared the origins of their friendship. "We met when I was 14 and she was 16. I was working at a coffee house and she was a junior model," she said. "She's still my bestie and sistie—sistie? That's a new word. It's Cameron Diaz. We're here to talk and we have things to talk about!"
"Cameron and I tend to text each other while we're getting ready for things," she continued. "We send each other videos of ourselves from our closets of us getting dressed, dancing around and sharing information. That's our form of communication."
Barrymore has said how their friendship has witnessed relationships, breakups, the birth of their kids and more. She has two daughters, Olive and Frankie, whom she shares with her ex-husband Will Kopelman. Diaz has three kids: Raddix, Cardinal, and Nautus, whom she shares with her husband, Benji Madden. She welcomed Nautus earlier this year, via surrogate.
