Jennifer Lopez couldn't believe just how well her costar, Brett Goldstein, knew about her entire filmography.

The pair, who star in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance, tested their chemistry in a recent interview. The segment shows J.Lo asking Goldstein questions about some of her most popular movies, and to her surprise, he got every single one right.

During the sweet interview, the Shrinking co-creator gushed over his love for Lopez's movies, answering question after question about films like Hustlers, Maid In Manhattan, The Wedding Planner, and more.

After answering yet another question correctly, the singer asked, "how did you know that?"

Goldstein answered, "Did you think I made it up, that I was a fan?"

"No, yeah, kind of. Yes," J.Lo answered with a giggle.

They Had Instant Chemistry While Filming Office Romance

During a recent interview with People, Lopez shared that she and the Ted Lasso breakout star immediately clicked while filming the movie together.

“We had chemistry right away,” Lopez explained. “And as we spent more time filming together, it only became stronger.”

The actress and singer said the comfortable dynamic between them helped bring authenticity to their on-screen relationship in the highly anticipated rom-com.

Jennifer Was Surprised by Brett’s Real-Life Personality

Although Lopez was already familiar with Goldstein’s work from the Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso, she admitted she expected him to resemble his tough-talking character Roy Kent much more in real life. But, instead, she discovered a completely different side of the actor.

“I thought he’d be a little rough around the edges,” Lopez confessed. “But he’s actually incredibly thoughtful, gentle, intelligent, and charming.”

The 56-year-old star said Goldstein’s softer personality caught her off guard in the best way possible.

“I loved him as Roy Kent because that’s one of my favorite television characters ever,” she added. “So I assumed he’d be similar off-screen, but he’s actually very sweet and soft-spoken.”

Brett Goldstein Wrote the Movie Specifically for J.Lo

As it turns out, Lopez was always meant to lead Office Romance.

Goldstein, who co-wrote the screenplay with collaborator Joe Kelly, revealed that Lopez was the first person they imagined for the role while developing the project.

“When we started talking about who the perfect romantic comedy lead would be, we immediately said J.Lo,” Goldstein shared.

According to the actor, writing the film became easier once they envisioned Lopez at the center of the story.

“She’s one of the greatest rom-com stars ever,” he explained. “We wanted to create something funny and smart that would actually be worthy of her saying yes.”

Jennifer Lopez Immediately Loved the Script

Lopez previously revealed that she was hooked on the project almost instantly after reading the screenplay.

During an earlier appearance on SiriusXM’s BPM channel, the actress recalled how passionate the writers were about having her star in the film.

“They basically told me, ‘We wrote this for you, and if you don’t do it, we’re probably not making it,’” Lopez said.

The actress explained that both she and longtime producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas quickly connected with the material because of its humor and charm.

“We thought it was genuinely funny,” Lopez shared. “We really loved it.”
