Becoming a father has clearly changed Maluma in ways fans are only beginning to see. During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer opened up about the emotional parenting moment involving his two-year-old daughter, Paris, and his signature beard.
While chatting with Jennifer Hudson, Maluma shared that his daughter had a dramatic reaction the first time she saw him clean-shaven. The Colombian star admitted he already suspected the change would upset her, so he tried to prepare for the moment carefully. “She cried immediately,” he revealed.
© Getty ImagesThe singer explained that he decided to shave while spending time with his daughter so she could watch the transformation happen in real time. “I knew she was going to get sad or mad at me. So I decided to shave while I was with her. And then she looked straight at me and said, ‘No, papa. Papa beard.’”
Maluma said he tried to comfort her, but the damage was already done. “I was like, ‘My love, it’s too late,’” he said, making the audience laugh.
© Getty ImagesThe funniest part for Maluma came afterward. According to the singer, rebuilding her trust took longer than he expected. “The funny part is that it took me a while to regain her love,” he joked. “I spent a week and a half begging for her love.”
Maluma is very private with his love and family life, but he spoke openly about how fatherhood has reshaped his priorities and made him appreciate the quieter moments at home even more.
