Jennifer Lopez marked 2026 Mother’s Day with an emotional tribute dedicated to her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, also known as Lupe. The singer and actress shared a touching message reflecting on the bond they’ve built over the years.
In her emotional message, Lopez praised her mother’s vibrant personality. “Your favorite color is purple. You love eating pastries and anything sweet. You laugh and it lights up the whole room with that loud and boisterous tone. When you dance, everybody has to stop and stare. You’re a lightning bolt,” Lopez wrote.
© @jloThe “On The Floor” singer continued by opening up about the comfort and guidance her mother has given her through difficult moments. “You’re the person I call in the middle of the night when I’m too lost and scared to admit it to anyone else and I can’t find my way out,” she shared.
Lopez also reflected on how becoming a mother herself changed their relationship. The star, who shares twins Max and Emme, spoke about the emotional highs and lows that come with parenting. “These past 18 years I’ve learned that being a mom is a series of ebbs and flows where you’re closer to your child in a way that you’ve never felt with any human, and at times you feel so far away that you could die from heartache,” she wrote.
The heartfelt tribute also honored the strength Guadalupe instilled in her daughters. “It must not have been easy all those years with three independent daughters that you nurtured to be so strong and smart and willful. But we love you, Mommy. I love you, Mommy. I cherish you today and every day. Happy Mother’s Day.”
In a separate Mother’s Day post, Lopez showed off a rich chocolate cake decorated with pastel flowers and the phrase “mom’s slice.”
