Victoria Beckham is building a beauty and fashion legacy for her daughter, while at the same time keeping one legendary piece from her Spice Girls archive firmly out of reach.
Speaking at the Time 100 Summit in New York City on April 22, the designer and beauty founder spoke about motherhood and the one vintage fashion moment daughter Harper Beckham will have to wait for a long time to inherit.
When asked whether 14-year-old Harper might one day step into some of her mother’s famous Spice Girls-era looks, Victoria said that while her teenage daughter has access to her pieces, not everything is an absolute yes. “She loves fashion. She loves beauty. And I'm pretty sure she would love to get her hands on those Spice Girls costumes,” Victoria said.
But one piece remains strictly off limits. “Not the PVC catsuit just yet. She’s 14, okay? So we’re going to wait for that,” Victoria added, referring to the black catsuit she wore in the “Say You’ll Be There” video in 1996 with the Spice Girls.
The sleek PVC catsuit is so iconic that it is one of Victoria’s most recognizable fashion moments. The look also helped her cement her identity as Posh Spice and is widely recreated each Halloween alongside her LBD, pumps, and bob.
Harper Beckham Is Already Following Victoria’s Footsteps
While the catsuit is a big no, Harper’s connection to fashion and beauty is already deeply rooted. Victoria said Harper is already having creative conversations to support Victoria’s fashion label and Victoria Beckham Beauty. “I mean, she’s been sitting on my lap through product development meetings since she was a baby. I mean, she is as obsessed with the products as I am,” Victoria said.
That passion has been visible to followers for years. Harper has occasionally appeared across Victoria’s social media, sharing playful makeup tutorials and testing products. So much so that the youngest child of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham is quietly working on her debut beauty line, HIKU BY Harper.
The brand is reportedly aimed at Gen Z and Gen Alpha, drawing inspiration from South Korean cosmetics. The venture is registered under H7B Limited, a company name that mirrors Harper’s full name, Harper Seven Beckham.
For years, Harper has largely remained out of the spotlight compared with her older brothers. But that privacy has also made her something of a curiosity. While Harper has largely been kept out of the public eye compared to her older brothers for years, this privacy has made her a compelling figure for both fans and brands. According to a previous source who spoke to The Sun, companies view her as a potentially relatable figure for younger audiences.
“So far, Harper has been kept quite private. But there is huge demand from brands who see her as someone lots of other teens would look up to,” a close source revealed to the publication. “Posh and Becks can see her potential and she wants to try some things out in the public eye. The wheels are in motion to slowly book some jobs for her.”
