Jacob Rodriguez is one of the most exciting NFL prospects. The Texas Tech linebacker has the media's attention, with many sports fans expecting great things from him and his career. In a new interview, Rodriguez is opening up about his wife Emma, as she prepares for her deployment as an Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot.
Rodriguez and Emma visited a local flight simulator. "I got to see how she flies and see what she gets to do on a daily basis... It's very stressful," he said in an interview with PEOPLE. "To see her in her element, doing what she does, doing what she loves to do, it shows me a deeper appreciation for everything."
He shared how much his wife and her commitment to her work have impacted his respect for the military. "All military service members, everybody in that line of work who volunteered to potentially put their life on the line, to protect the country, it's truly unbelievable," he said.
"It really puts me in a great headspace knowing that she's out there doing what she loves."
Rodriguez and Emma spent seven years in a long-distance relationship, a process that taught them "how to communicate." The two met as teenagers as they went to rival high schools in Texas, marrying in 2023. The two are embarking on important stages in their lives, as they actively pursue their dreams.
