Lauren Sánchez Bezos is a Miami girl. The media personality and wife of Jeff Bezos was recently photographed in her home on the island of Indian Creek in Miami, one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country.
In photos captured over the weekend, Sánchez Bezos took a moment to relax, being photographed with some friends as she boarded a boat near her home. Sánchez Bezos wore comfortable and stylish clothes for the outing, wearing a brown sleeveless top that she paired with baggy jeans. She completed the look with a large white purse.
Sánchez Bezos styled her hair in a high ponytail and shielded her eyes from the sun with some sunglasses. She was holding on to a coffee as she climbed aboard the boat, taking a second to wave towards the paparazzi.
Sánchez Bezos and her husband are currently preparing for the Met Gala, an event which they're sponsoring. The two have long been involved in fashion, but their involvement in the Met Gala is notable and makes for one of their biggest moments in the fashion industry.
“Lauren is a force,” said Anna Wintour, the lead chairperson at the Met Gala, in an email to the New York Times. “The Costume Institute’s exhibition this year is an enormous, complicated project in a new gallery at the heart of the museum, and I thought the gala needed that energy.”
In early March, Sánchez Bezos discussed her work in the Met Gala, sharing how honored and excited she is to be involved with it.
“It has been such a fun and meaningful experience, and when Anna [Wintour] called me and said, ‘Do you want to co-chair and also be the sponsors of the Met?’ I was so honored," she said in an appearance on the Today Show. “And then she told me the theme — fashion is art.”
“These designers are true artists,” she continued. “Schiaparelli was best friends with Salvador Dalí, and his medium was a canvas, and hers was clothing. It's going to be incredible to see what everyone wears and to be able to really honor all these designers. I cannot wait.”
The Bezos' life in Miami
The Sanchez Bezos family announced their move to Miami in late 2023, representing the end of an era for Bezos, who founded the Amazon company while he lived in Seattle.
The couple now lives in a $230 million compound on Indian Creek, a private island nicknamed "Billionaire Bunker," where celebrities like Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, and more live. According to a New York Times profile, Sánchez Bezos and her husband wake up at 6 am every day, "listing 10 things they’re grateful for."
