Jennifer Lopez is leaning into renewal this spring, and she’s not being subtle about it. The multi-hyphenate star offered fans a glimpse into what she has been calling her “happy era,” sharing a set of playful photos that felt equal parts festive and symbolic.

In two selfies, Lopez appears in bunny ears, glowing and relaxed, while in another, she showcases intricately decorated seasonal cookies. "Happy Easter, everybody. God shows us that all miracles are possible…He can rise from the dead and bring new life," she wrote in the caption. "Here’s to new beginnings."

The post arrives at a moment that feels intentionally transitional. Just one week earlier, Lopez closed out her three-month Las Vegas residency, 'Up All Night,' at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, a run that began on Dec. 30, 2025, and stretched through March.

From the very first night, she framed the show as something personal, telling the audience she was “in my happy era,” a phrase that has since become something of a mantra.

That sense of reinvention has been echoed in her recent interviews. In a March 11 appearance on Nightline, she opened up about a shift that has been decades in the making.

“I’m in my happy era. I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good," she said. “I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s, and even before that. I’ve always had boyfriends. There was always someone in my life, and so many things that I felt like were out of my control," the singer added.

Behind that newfound independence is a period of significant personal change. Lopez finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck in January 2025, following a split that prompted what she has described as a deeply introspective chapter.

The two, who married in 2022, have remained on friendly terms, even reuniting publicly at the October premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, a film Affleck produced.

Her evolving perspective on love, however, had already begun to take shape months earlier. In October 2024, Lopez spoke candidly to Interview magazine about choosing to step away from relationships and confront herself in a new way.

From the very first night, she framed the show as something personal, telling the audience she was “in my happy era,” a phrase that has since become something of a mantra.

"This summer, I had to be like, “I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that," she said. "It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate. But when you sit in those feelings and go, “These things are not going to kill me,” it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself."

That realization marked a turning point. As she later put it, her sense of identity is no longer tied to partnership.

"Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill," she said.

Her twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, are preparing to leave for college this year, a milestone she has described as bittersweet but filled with pride.

"Here’s the thing. There’s no new bar because I’m not looking for anybody. How’s that?" Now, as Lopez looks ahead, that clarity appears to be shaping both her personal and professional life.

"Some people are going to love you, and some are not going to understand you, and some people just want to hate you to hate you, and none of that really matters. What matters for me, as an artist, is doing work that inspires me and that I enjoy doing," she said.

For Lopez, the Easter message wasn’t just seasonal. It was a quiet declaration that, after decades in the spotlight, she is finally moving on her own terms.
