In a world where people have no shame in making unsolicited comments on women's bodies, Kelly Osbourne is fighting back. The 41-year-old TV personality has been dealing with negativity since she lost weight, and was even a victim of it after the death of her father, Ozzy, who passed away in July at 76. Hate is never excusable, but one person took things too far.

On Monday, Kelly shared a photo from the Royal Ascot Millinery collective 2026, wearing a purple gown, and the comments are filled with things like "Damn, it's like the casting for corpse bride" and people telling her to eat. One stood out to her, a cruel comment saying she“looks like a dead body” and insinuated she’d “see her dad soon."

Kelly fired back publicly, posting a screenshot of the comment to her Instagram Stories. On Feb. 23, she wrote, “Literally can’t believe how disgusting some human beings truly are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!”

Kelly has been vulnerable about the reality of grief and how it’s affecting her physically. “I am ill right now,” she said in a December Instagram Story. “My life is completely flipped upside down. I don’t understand why people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when it’s not.”

She added, “The fact that I’m getting out of bed and facing my life, trying, should be more than enough. And I should be commended for that.”

Fans have always rallied around, and so has her mom, Sharon Osbourne. While on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon defended her daughter, saying, “She’s right. She’s lost her daddy. She can’t eat right now.” She also questioned the mindset behind the attacks, saying, “They’ve got something wrong with their lives. They’re not happy.”

Since her father’s passing, Kelly, who shares son Sidney, 3, with fiancé Sid Wilson, has been open about how hard it’s been. “People usually say, ‘I’m great.’ [But] I’m not doing so great,” she said earlier this month. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.” Still, she noted she’s trying to move forward: “We’re doing everything we can to try and just live in his legacy and be happy.”

Before her dad's passing, Kelly was still getting comments and hate from people accusing her of promoting unhealthy behavior. She has previously spoken candidly about weight loss drugs and procedures, like her experience with gastric bypass surgery and semaglutide injections, aka Ozempic.

Per People en Español, she told Bill Maher, on his podcast in 2020, “You have a weight problem, and you’ve tried everything, then someone tells you, ‘take this shot, and you’ll be thin.' " However, she said she stopped taking it a few weeks later.

While Kelly stopped the injections, she did not stop losing weight. The mother of 2 dropped 85 pounds after her pregnancy. In September 2023, she was a guest on Sheana Shay’s podcast, and after Shay complimented her figure, Kelly replied, “I was determined to lose all the weight I gained during pregnancy. Then it was like, let’s see how far I can go. And I’ve gone too far.”
