The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lawsuit is still making headlines, and A-listers have been getting dragged into the mix, especially Taylor Swift. Swift and Lively were longtime besties, and last week, her private texts were made public.

Text messages acquired by DailyMail were unsealed as part of Lively’s 2024 lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. There were several with Swift,  who received a subpoena from Baldoni's team last year, discussing the actor and the situation at hand.

A source told Us Weekly the situation has been "really hard for Taylor." They said having her texts out there "made her feel exposed and kind of violated, like, something private suddenly wasn’t hers anymore." "That doesn’t sit well with her," they continued.

The source said Swift was just trying to be a good friend in what she thought was a "private moment" and wasn’t "trying to get involved or make anything bigger." “Now, it’s turned into this whole thing that she didn’t ask for," they said.

Better days for the former besties

Another source said the "Love Story" singer was “obviously not happy” about the messages being released and that she's been involved in the mess.

“Even though she was sending Blake messages and went to the apartment, she wasn’t involved in creating a master plan to take anyone down,” the second insider told the outlet.

It's been reported that Swift and Lively's relationship has been strained. They had been besties since 2016, and the singer is even the godmother of Lovely and Ryan Reynolds' children.

What was in the texts

The texts from 2023 and 2024 include conversations like Lively asking Swift for a "huge favor," explaining, "I need help with him." “Can you tell him you are excited for the movie. That you read the book, but what you’re freaking out over is the [script] pages I sent you. What a magnetic scene that is. Or whatever descriptives you’re comfortable [with]," she wrote. Swift said she would "do anything" for Lively in response.

In another exchange, Lively called Swift's actions that day "so epically heroic." “I recapped every moment to Ryan. I kept remembering stuff — You making s*** up about me and lenses. And referring to yourself as my doll. This clown is falling for all of it. But also resisting it. You are the world's absolutely greatest friend. I won the lottery.”

Swift responded, “I WON THE LOTTERY. You are the COOLEST PERSON IN THE WORLD and you like me!!”

Elsewhere, Swift writes, “If Justin was strategic/He would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer/Because that gives you more power over the film, that’s your ally not his."

Lively responded: “You are so right. And so wickedly smart to call it. He should’ve run from your music. I never thought about that. But holy s**t. How stupid. This was his only shot at having the appearance of an upper hand.”

Their relationship is reportedly strained

Lively’s attorney, Sigrid McCawley, told reporters the texts were irrelevant and that Lively has done “everything she can to protect her friends from not being brought into that.”

One of Baldoni's allegations is that Lively was leveraging connections with her powerful and famous friends to manipulate Baldoni’s public image. He also claimed he was invited to Lively’s home, only to walk into what he describes as an ambush by Swift and Ryan Reynolds to get him to accept Lively's rewrites.

He released text messages between him and Lively to back up his claims, which went viral.  In the text messages, the 37-year-old referred to Swift and her husband as her dragons, comparing herself to Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi.

"If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for the better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really, we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you," she wrote, per Entertainment Tonight.

The trial between Lively and Baldoni has a new start date set for May 18, 2026.
