Julio Iglesias breaks his silence to ¡HOLA!, says he's preparing his legal defense [Exclusive]

As the world awaits a response from Julio Iglesias, the Spanish music icon has spoken to ¡HOLA! Spain. Iglesias is currently the subject of an investigation by Spain’s National Court Prosecutor’s Office following a complaint filed by two women who allege they were sexually assaulted while working for him at his residences in Punta Cana and the Bahamas.

During a phone call, Iglesias sounded serious, fully aware of the gravity of the situation, yet confident in his position. 

The singer made it clear that now is not the time to issue a public statement, although he intends to do so in the near future. He and his legal team are currently preparing their defense, convinced that the matter will be clarified in due course.

Iglesias’ inner circle has remained silent, avoiding public comments. Privately, those close to him have firmly rejected the allegations and expressed their shock. Several political figures have also weighed in. The regional president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has voiced her support for the singer, questioning the intent behind the claims. José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the mayor of Madrid, has defended the presumption of innocence and confirmed that Iglesias will not be stripped of his municipal honors.
