Mark Wahlberg says he eats the same breakfast every day, a protein-heavy plate designed to keep him in peak shape. The 54-year-old actor, known for his famously disciplined lifestyle and early-morning workouts, shared a glimpse into his daily diet as part of his long-running commitment to fitness, which includes 4 a.m. gym sessions and a tightly structured family routine at home.
Speaking in an Instagram video, the Family Plan 2 star said, “It’s 7 a.m., we are about to have breakfast. We got the hard-boiled eggs, the scrambled eggs with turkey, the salmon, the blueberries.”
He then added bluntly, “Same s***, every day,” as he fist-bumped his personal chef, Lawrence Duran. The clip shows Wahlberg sitting down in his gym gear and tucking into the meal before concluding, “Same old, same old. Every day.”
In the caption accompanying the video, Wahlberg wrote, “I eat the same breakfast every day (angry face emoji), but I feel better every day!! (shrugging emoji).” He also referenced his well-known “4 a.m. club” workout routine.
While Wahlberg sticks rigidly to his morning habits, he recently revealed that his routine softens slightly when it comes to family time, particularly during the holidays. The Ted actor shares children, Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15, with his wife of 16 years, Rhea Durham, 47.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Wahlberg said, “All the kids being in one place at one time, for a good amount of time, where we have breakfast together, lunch together, dinner every night, and we’re all hanging out.” He added that being together inevitably leads to some good-natured teasing at his expense, saying, “My kids love making fun of me. They imitate me, give me c***. They’ll do the Boston accent.”
Wahlberg has also spoken candidly about parenting and the pressure many families feel to compare themselves to others. During an interview with Extra, he said, “A lot of people do that. It’s easy to do that if you’re so busy looking at everybody else and what they’re doing. Who knows what is fabricated and what’s real? I think the grass is always greener on the other side. I’m very fortunate, very blessed. You don’t really get to pick and choose your family, you’re stuck with each other, and in a wonderful way.”
