There are birthday parties, and then there are birthday parties where Cardi B shows up in a dress so bold it practically starts its own conversation. Miami got the second kind. At Stefon Diggs’ 32nd birthday celebration, the rapper arrived in a custom black dress that turned heads like a carnival ride.
Cardi, who has always treated fashion like a full-contact sport, stepped out in a piece created by Candice Cuoco, a designer who clearly woke up and chose architectural drama. The dress dipped low in the front, scooped even lower in the back, and was held together by a shimmering constellation of gold chains. Those chains weren’t just decoration; they were hardware with purpose. Cuoco later revealed that the look included ninety-eight chains, ninety-eight hand-sewn clips, and nearly two hundred adjustable fastenings.
Inside the Craft Behind the Chaos
Cuoco said the design was inspired by Maison Chardon and included a built-in Frederick’s of Hollywood bra for support. Honestly, the dress needed a support system because it was working harder than everyone else in the room. In a video shared on social media, Cardi flaunted the sculpted piece while twirling and posing, all curves, confidence, and colorful tattoos.
The chains, Cuoco explained, were hand-adjusted using jewelry-grade clips. She described the labor as the kind of intense creative process that makes her feel most herself.
The Styling That Took It to the Finish Line
Cardi’s longtime stylist, Kollin Carter, polished off the provocative look with Rene Caovilla heels and gold jewelry, giving the entire ensemble a subtle glow. Her hair was pinned up in a full, curly updo. The whole thing was signature Cardi aesthetic.
Meanwhile, the birthday boy, Patriots star Stefon Diggs, seemed like he was having the time of his life. A clip circulating on X showed him beaming while Cardi danced nearby.
Cardi’s Post-Baby Fashion Era
The mom-of-four has been stepping back into the spotlight with high-impact looks since welcoming her new baby boy with Diggs in early November. Days after giving birth, she appeared at the opening of Cybex’s NYC flagship store wearing a Dilara Findikoglu bomber jacket, a bubble-hem mini, and sky-high Mowalola boots.
She confirmed the arrival of her son with a heartfelt Instagram post, saying the new addition gives her another reason to grow, love, and show up for her family.
This newborn is Cardi’s first child with Diggs, joining daughters Kulture and Blossom and son Wave, whom she shares with her estranged husband Offset. After filing for divorce from Offset in July 2024 and going public with Diggs in May, Cardi’s personal life has been as dynamic as her fashion.
