Paulina Porizkova loves a get-ready-with-me video, like all of us. The supermodel and beauty icon shared her own version of the video on her social media, showing her stripping down to her underwear as she gets ready for a day of work.
Porizkova shared the clip on her Instagram, sharing that these types of clips make her view getting dressed as an "art form," something that is difficult for her.
In her post's caption, Porizkova wrote that she finds "dressing myself boring. It always feels like work." She then wrote a sweet and supportive message for viewers who compare their bodies to other people, something that can mess with their self-esteem.
"If you’re like me, you will also zero in on the shape of my body- and hopefully- think with relief, “Ah, she’s not perfect either.” And then you can give yourself a little break and wrap your arms around your imperfect self and give it some love. Because our imperfections are what makes us a perfect original," she wrote.
The video shows Porizkova removing her robe and, in her underwear, getting dressed in comfortable clothes to spend the day writing, an art form she's been pursuing, with her publishing a book of essays in 2022 called "No Filter: The Good, The Bad, and the Beautiful."
The clip shows her putting on a sweater with squirrels printed on it -- a gift from her fiancé -- tying her hair up in a comfortable bun, and pinching her cheeks as a replacement for makeup. The clip prompted plenty of sweet responses from her followers.
"My boyfriend was next to me when I watched this, and he looked over and said, 'She’s so beautiful.' I could not agree more," reads one of the messages.
"More of these videos," wrote a second person.
Porizkova's mission to discuss and embrace aging
Earlier this year, Porizkova celebrated her 60th birthday, and has been challenging beauty forms in simple and more complicated ways. While she explores the topic in her writing and in conversations with other people, she also frequently shares images that show off her body, relaxed and not posed.
“This is me. Vacation, pretty light, posing for a shot,” she captioned a photo of herself in a bikini that she shared earlier this year. “This is also me. Home, not great light, not posing. This is 60.”
“This is 60 years of sometimes healthy eating, sometimes not. 60 years of sometimes working out, sometimes not. 60 years of doing the right things followed by doing the wrong things and over again and again,” she continued.
In an appearance earlier this year on the Today Show, Porizkova shared more of her thoughts and why she thinks it's important for aging women to speak up and normalize their existence. “We’re so terrified of wrinkles because I suppose wrinkles make us no longer relevant, no longer sexy, no longer desirable, and as women, that has been sort of our calling card, it’s tagged with us for such a long time," she said.
She called wrinkles people's "map of lives."
“I see how you are as a person. Why would you want to erase it?”
