Gisele Bündchen is celebrating a special occasion. The supermodel and culture icon recently shared a sweet photo tributing her partner, Joaquim Valente, as he celebrated his birthday. The post marks the rare occasion when Bündchen shares updates about her personal life, particularly her relationship with her boyfriend and the father of his youngest son.
Valente celebrated his birthday earlier in November, with his girlfriend sharing a sweet post to celebrate the occasion.
Bündchen shared a photo on her Instagram story, showing her and Valente holding hands as they stood on the beach. The photo appears to have been taken during sunset, with it lying in between Bündchen and Valente's arms.
"Feliz aniversario Joaquim Valente," she wrote, tagging him. "Te amo!" she concluded, adding a heart emoji. The post marks the rare occasion when she shares photos and content featuring Valente, opting to keep her personal life private ever since she divorced Tom Brady.
Over the past year, she and Valente welcomed their first son together, who is around nine months old as of this writing. The pair keeps a low profile, but they're often photographed together in Miami, enjoying themselves as they do various activities and sports, and spend the weekends under the sun aboard their luxury yacht.
More details about Bündchen and Valente
Bündchen and Valente confirmed their relationship in 2023, with the two stepping back from the spotlight in order to focus on themselves and on growing their family.
The couple has a long history together, becoming friends back in 2021, when Valente started teaching Jiu-Jitsu to her kids. She and Valente began training together, with her falling in love with the sport.
“I have always been a seeker and a curious person who always wants to dive deeper. It's actually because of my son that I met Joaquim. I have a friend who told me about the Valente brothers and their martial art school, and since I wanted to steer my almost-teenage son in the right direction, I thought he might be interested in this,” she said in an interview with Dust magazine. “Initially, I wasn’t even considering it for myself, to be honest with you. But, when I brought him to the first class and started talking with Joaquim, I realized that it was much more than self-defense. I became really interested the philosophy."
In 2024, in an interview with the New York Times, Bündchen opened up about her dynamic with Valente. “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she said. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”
