Anne Hathaway was Sabrina Carpenter's latest prisoner. The actress joins a long list of celebrities who've been featured on Carpenter's longest-running bit.
Carpenter kicked off the fall leg of her "Short and Sweet Tour," which began last year. On her first show in New York, where she sold out Madison Square Garden, Anne Hathaway was featured on the Jumbotron to the excitement of the audience.
In videos captured by fans, Hathaway is seen wearing a black strapless top and waving and cheering on fans, who greeted her with excitement. "Where are you from?" asked Carpenter.
"Genovia," said Hathaway, referencing her "Princess Diaries" character, Mia Thermopolis, who discovers she's the princess of Genovia in the 2001 film.
"Has anyone ever told you you look like a princess?" joked Carpenter. "I'm in the presence of a princess, I'm getting so flustered... Anne, can I arrest you for being the most perfect princess in the world? This song's for Anne, everybody!" she said, kicking off "Juno," one of her biggest hits.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hathaway shared just how special "The Princess Diaries" was for her, and how the film changed her life by introducing her to two very important people for her career. "I was 17 years old when we made this and so, I hadn't met as many people yet in my life, so I knew [director] Garry Marshall was really special and I knew Julie Andrews was really special, but now sitting here watching this from this point of view, they are two of the most magical people I've ever met," said Hathaway, getting emotional.
