Eric Trump is sharing some details of his family life. The younger brother of Ivanka and Donald Jr has published his first book, "Under Siege," a memoir and an account of his family's history and his father's presidency. While the book centers on the family's political and business life, it also explores some of its personal stories, like Ivanka's childhood crush.
In the book, Eric reveals that Ivanka had a crush on Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N' Roses. "She had a signed Axl Rose poster in her room in Trump Tower - her first crush, with tattoos, the trademark bandanna tied around his head, ripped jeans, and leather jacket," he wrote.
Eric narrates that his recollection of Ivanka's crush came to him as his family flew back to Palm Beach on Election Day last year. Guns N' Roses' "November Rain" was "blasting" in Trump Force One.
Years later, during Donald Trump's first presidency, Rose became one of his most vocal critics, sharing his thoughts onstage and on social media.
In one instance, he addressed Ivanka. In 2018, when Ivanka was asked about the accusations of inappropriate behavior from his father, Rose shared a tweet taking a dig at her and her role in the White House.
"What's inappropriate is Ivanka Trump being part of the White House administration," he wrote.
Rose has asked the Trump campaign to refrain from using his band's songs at campaign rallies. He claimed that even though the band had made the request, Trump's team had gone through loopholes and remains able to use their music. “Personally, I kinda liked the irony of Trump supporters listening to a bunch of anti-Trump music at his rallies, but I don’t imagine a lot of ‘em really get that or care," said Rose.
Ivanka's support for her brother Eric and her family
Earlier this year, Ivanka showed support for Eric's first book, taking to social media to promote it. Over the years, Ivanka has spoken about her family, sharing that their parents were tough on them and played key figures in their development as adults.
"Look, none of us are saints. We all like to have fun. But I think our parents have just been pretty tough with us. They’ve always made sure that we lived within some realm of reality. I don’t know how they figured it out, but they knew the perfect way to give us what we needed without it being gratuitous," said Ivanka in a 2004 interview with New York Magazine.
