Rihanna has never needed to say much to set the internet on fire, and her latest magazine cover proves it once again. The pregnant “Diamonds” singer unveiled her cover for volume 14 of HOMMEGIRLS on September 16, leaving fans wondering whether she just dropped the ultimate hint about the sex of her third baby.

On the striking cover, Rihanna lounges effortlessly on a couch, rocking oversized pink cargo shorts paired with a green plaid shirt, casually unbuttoned to spotlight her baby bump. She captioned the shot: “HOMMEGIRLS VOLUME 14 feat. my next fashion killa.”

Fans immediately flooded her Instagram comments, reading between every line and color choice. The pink bottoms especially had many convinced this was Rihanna’s way of telling the world she’s finally expecting a girl.

One follower wrote: “Does it mean you're getting your baby gurrrrrrrl?” while another teased: “Home girls?????? Girlssssss.” Some seemed entirely confident, declaring, “We’re getting a babygirl Fenty,” as countless pink-heart emojis filled the replies.

Always Dropping Hints

This isn’t the first time Rihanna’s fans have played detective with her pregnancy style. Throughout her motherhood journey, every outfit, lyric, and caption has been scrutinized for hints about what’s next. With sons RZA, 3, and Riot Rose, 2, already charming the spotlight, many have been rooting for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky to welcome a daughter into the mix.

Adding more fuel to the speculation, A$AP Rocky himself stirred chatter earlier this summer when he seemingly let something slip, hinting at the possibility of a baby girl. While he didn’t confirm anything, fans were quick to connect the dots.

The Fenty Family Future

Rihanna has often spoken about her love for family life. At 36, she seems to be embracing motherhood as much as her empire of music, beauty, and fashion. And A$AP Rocky isn’t shy about wanting to expand their brood even further.

“We’re going to be like the Wayans family, you know?” he joked, referencing the legendary comedy clan with 10 siblings. “I mean, love is beautiful, and it’s just spreading it.” If that’s the case, RZA and Riot Rose may not be the only big brothers for long.

Not Only are Fans Hoping for a Girl

Beyond the pink shorts and the very title of HOMMEGIRLS, Rihanna has spoken about wanting a baby girl. In 2023, during her FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty collab, Rihanna told E! News she hasn’t been able to give birth to a girl. “So far, have daughters,” she responded to the reporter when asked about anything she can’t do.

At the time, the Grammy winner hinted that she and A$AP Rocky were planning for a third child. “I’m batting at 75 percent for a boy next time. So, we’ll just keep our fingers crossed,” she said. Fast forward today, RiRi might give birth to her new bundle of joy soon.

During her appearance on the red carpet, the singer humorously reflected on her expectations of family life before the arrival of her sons. “You don’t have an idea,” the star told Access Hollywood. “You just hope, ‘I can have kids one day and I hope I can have them in love, and I hope that I can be a part of a family that breaks generational curses and moves forward and does new things and raises our kids better than we were raised and all the beautiful things.’ And it’s happening, and I can’t believe it.”

“The only thing I imagined was probably the forehead on RZA,” Rihanna said. “Riot doesn’t have it. I’m like, ‘Wait, are you sure [this is my baby]?’ You can’t lose this thing!”
