Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are sharing some details about their daughter's name. The pair welcomed their first child together earlier this year, named Saga Blade. In a new interview, Kelly revealed that he was the one who picked the name for his daughter, a special recognition for him, considering that he didn't get that privilege when he welcomed his first child, Casie.
“Well, I lost the first one and won the second one,” Kelly said in an interview on the Today Show. “When you are 18 years old and you go to her mother and you go, ‘What if we named our kid “Kid?”’ I get why she’s like, ‘Hey man, shut up.’”
“That was one of the names. I was like, ‘If her name was Kid, that would be sick.’”
In a previous interview, Kelly opened up about his and Fox's baby and the reason they chose that name. “I think her journey, you know, the five years of kind of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,” he said.
“She is an epic story. That's what saga means.” He also revealed that the name is a link to his Norwegian heritage. "That's the Nordic goddess of storytelling. So, she has a storytelling future ahead of her.”
Kelly originally shared his daughter's name on an adorable Instagram video showing him playing the ukulele for her, as the baby gurgles happily.
Fox and Kelly's complicated relationship
Saga is his first child with Fox, following a miscarriage that the two have discussed.
Fox discussed the topic in her book of poems, titled "Pretty Boys Are Poisonous." "I’ve never been through anything like that in my life. I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately…trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?’” she said in an appearance on "Good Morning America."
Fox has three kids with Brian Austin Green: Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8.
For his part, Kelly has one daughter with his ex Emma Cannon, named Casie, 15.
