Vanessa Bryant is highlighting the basketball talents in her family. Earlier this week, she shared a couple of photos showing off her youngest daughter's basketball skills. In a sweet montage, Bryant compared Capri's skills to her father, the late Basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
The photo was shared on Instagram and shows two images side by side. One of them shows Kobe in the middle of the basketball court, holding a basketball as he prepares to take a shot with one hand while the other is wrapped in a cast.
The second photo shows Capri in the gym, holding on to a basketball with one hand, with her other arm wrapped in a purple cast, adorably mirroring her father.
"Like father, like daughter," Bryant captioned the post, adding a purple emoji. "Capri Kobe Bryant," she concluded, adding a few hashtags, including Baby Mamba, Koko Bean, referring to Capri's nickname, and Purple Cast.
Bryant's eldest daughter, Natalia, also shared her mother's post, bringing attention to her little sister's adorable progress.
The Bryant family basketball legacy
The Bryant family is one of the most important sporting families, not only due to Kobe Bryant's impressive basketball record and impact, but also due to the family establishing varuious efforts to impact the sport and their community, including the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation, which supports youth sports and different initiatives to improve the lives of athletes, the Mamba Sports Academy, and supporting women's sports.
On a more personal basis, Bryant's youngest daughters have also shown some interest in the sport over the years. Last year, Bryant shared a video of Bianka and Capri shooting basketballs with Sabrina Ionescu, the professional basketball player who plays for the New York Liberty team. "Shooting definitely runs in the family," wrote Ionescu on Bryant's post.
In the past, Kobe had discussed his daughters' interest in the sport. "Our middle daughter, Gianna is really, really focused on playing the game of basketball," he said in a 2019 interview. "I don't know what she's going to do, but she has a lot of energy. She never sits down. So I'm not sure what she's gonna do."
