Ariana Grande has no hard feelings toward ex-fiancé Pete Davidson as he prepares to welcome his first child. The Wicked star is reportedly “happy” for Pete and believes fatherhood could be the transformative next chapter he needs. Pete, 31, and British model Elsie Hewitt, 29, announced their pregnancy in July via Instagram, just months after debuting their romance publicly.
A source close to Ariana, 32, told The Daily Mail that the singer is genuinely pleased for her former partner as he steps into fatherhood.
© John ShearerThe insider told the publication, “She is happy for Pete. [Ariana] doesn’t know Elsie, but she believes that Pete becoming a father is the exact thing that he needs in his life and that he will be a great dad.”
The continued, “Everyone knows Pete’s father passed away on 9/11, and Pete will find it important to provide the best childhood possible for his child.”

Pete’s father, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter, died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001.
Ariana and Pete had their own whirlwind romance. The pair got together in May 2018 after splitting from their long-time partners and were quickly engaged. However, the engagement ended in October of the same year, just five months after it began.
The Wicked actress is now dating actor and singer Ethan Slater, her co-star in the movie musical. Ariana finalized her divorce from real estate broker Dalton Gomez in March 2024, following their February 2023 separation.
Ethan also divorced his wife, high school sweetheart Lilly Jay, in September 2024. They share a two-year-old son.

"And I couldn’t be happier to do it with the person that I’m doing it with.” Davidson, who has been dating British model Elsie Hewitt for the past year, described her as “wonderful” and said he’s just as eager to see her become a mom as he is to become a dad himself.
The comedian also reflected on the overwhelming support he’s received from loved ones since announcing the news. “They know that that’s my dream,” he said, adding that the people closest to him are “so excited” to see him embrace this next chapter.
