The dazzling lights of New York City served as the perfect backdrop for Formula 1’s glamorous new venture, a film premiere featuring Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt. Amid the star-studded gathering, Argentina’s racing heartthrob Franco Colapinto stood confidently stepping onto the scene for the first time in the Big Apple.
“It’s great to be here. I love it,” Franco enthused, visibly soaking in the electric atmosphere. “It’s something very special to be here in New York. It’s my first time here, actually. But to have everything, this F1 ambiance, I think it’s something unique.”
The premiere wasn’t just another glamorous event for Colapinto; it marked a symbolic intersection between his passion and the rising global fascination with Formula 1.
Reflecting on the film’s realistic portrayal of the sport, Colapinto observed, “The way this movie is filmed on track during actual races brings a lot of realism. I’ve never seen a big production doing the actual sport as it’s happening. Seeing the drivers interacting and Sonny alongside Lewis and Max makes everything much more authentic.”
While Colapinto quickly acknowledged the cinematic liberties, “You have to remember, this movie has science fiction elements,“ his excitement was palpable. “I’ve never seen so many TV screens in my life, all together,” he joked, eyes twinkling with amusement. “I’m sure there’s going to be plenty of fun tonight. Everyone hopes for a great movie, and hopefully, they’ll enjoy it.”
Away from the glamour of movie premieres, Colapinto has been carving out a notable path with Alpine, the respected Formula 1 team. He praised the team’s commitment and performance.
“It’s great to be with Alpine. They are putting together a strong car for us. We’re the lucky ones who get to drive it.”
Admitting that the journey has its challenges, he described recent races as “a tough couple of events,” quickly adding optimistically, “but there’s been plenty of positives. It’s a learning curve, and after the last race in Canada, we’ve taken a good step forward. I can’t wait for what’s next.”
As the evening unfolded, Franco Colapinto seamlessly shifted between his roles as racing prodigy, Alpine’s promising talent, and Argentina’s charming representative on the global stage, effortlessly intertwining ambition with charisma. This premiere was more than an event, it was a statement, confirming Colapinto as a rising icon of Formula 1’s thrilling new era.
