Suri is a student at Carnegie Mellon University
Following her high school graduation last May, Suri enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University, where she's currently studying in her freshman year of college. Photographers captured her and her mother moving into the dorms last year, showing that Suri is getting the complete college experience.
While Suri is now based in Pittsburgh, she's visited New York frequently, spending holiday breaks here and special occasions, like her mother's birthday. Suri has also made the time to attend Katie Holmes' Broadway show "Our Town," which concluded on January 19th of this year.
She's shown an interest in the arts over the years
As the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, it's natural for Suri to have an interest in the arts. And while she's acted in various of her school plays, one of the most interesting things about Suri is that she's also a singer and dancer, skills that her parents have not explored publicly in the past.
Suri has starred in numerous high school plays, including playing the role of Morticia Addams in her high school's musical adaptation of "The Addams Family: A New Musical" and even has musical credits on one of her mother's films. Suri performed a cover of the song "Blue Moon" that's featured on "Alone Together."
She had a boyfriend during her senior year of high school
Throughout last year, Suri was photographed numerous times with Toby Cohen, a boy in her class. The pair appear to have dated for a couple of months, attending prom together and being photographed kissing while on walks in Central Park.
The pair likely bonded over their interest in the arts, with Cohen having various social media profiles dedicated to his music.
Her strong bond with Holmes
While Suri's personality has been kept away from the spotlight, one of the things that's most obvious about her is the bond she shares with her mother, displayed whenever she visits New York. This year, Suri celebrated her mother on numerous occasions, attending various shows of "Our Town" and gifting her mother flowers on her birthday.
"My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it," said Holmes in a 2020 interview with InStyle. "She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality."
