Cate Blanchett might be considering retiring from acting. The award winning Australian actress recently made news after sharing in an interview that she might be interested in pursuing other career paths and leaving acting behind.
© Getty ImagesBlanchett has just released the film "Black Bag" and has been doing press with different news outlets and broadcasts. In an interview with the Radio Times, Blanchett doubted before introducing herself as an actress. "It's because I'm giving up," she said.
“My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I am serious about giving up acting.”
Blanchett revealed that she wants to do other things in the future, saying that there are “a lot of things I want to do with my life”.
While there's nothing confirmed and Blanchett is entering a busy year lined up with projects, the news have caused some panic in the film community, with Blanchett being one of the most talented actresses of her generation and one of the most beloved actors of all time.

In the future, Cate Blanchett may choose to retire, but, in the time being, there's a lot of projects of hers that are in development.
Her film "Black Bag" came out last month in theaters. This March, she starred in a London production of the famous play "The Seagull," and she's now starring in her first radio program, a drama called "The Fever."

No matter what she does next, it's safe to say that Blanchett will be experimenting with her art.
