Katie Holmes is making a rare statement regarding her daughter. The actress and filmmaker is normally very private about her personal life, including that of her daughter Suri Cruise. In a new Instagram post, Holmes addressed media outlets, asking them to stop spreading misinformation about her daughter and finances.
© GrosbyGroupThe post was shared on Instagram and showed a screenshot of an article from The Daily Mail, claiming that Suri was a "millionaire" now that she had access to her father Tom Cruise's trust fund.
“Suri Cruise the millionaire! Tom Cruise’s trust fund has ‘kicked in’ and mom Katie Holmes has one for her too.," read the headline.
"Completely false," wrote Holmes over the post. "Daily Mail you can stuff making stuff up now."
In the caption, Holmes wrote "Enough." The post was shared over the weekend and was received with plenty of support from her followers, who praised Holmes' decision to speak up and call out media outlets that discuss personal matters, like her daughter's life and her finances.
"I’m so proud of you for calling them out. I love you to the moon!" wrote Zoey Deutch, Holmes' co-star on the show "Our Town," which is currently hosting shows on Broadway.
"We have your back! Love you!" wrote fellow actor John McGinty.
Suri and Tom Cruise's rumored estranged relationship
Suri and Tom Cruise haven't been spotted together in a public setting in years, with many believing that their relationship is estranged. This past year saw many of Suri's milestones, including her high school graduation and her move to Pittsburgh, where she'll live for the next four years while she attends Carnegie Mellon University.
Cruise wasn't involved in any of these moments.
According to a report from last year by Page Six, Cruise hasn't been a part of Suri's life for years. A source claims that Suri and Cruise had drifted apart ever since his split from Holmes in 2011.
