Madonna and her son Rocco Ritchie celebrate their birthday together in Italy

Rocco’s birthday is August 11th, and Madonna’s is August 16th. The celebrity kid is now 22, and since it is already the 16th in Italy, Madonna is now 64. Along with Rocco, she has his older sister Lourdes Leon, and her adopted children David Banda, Mercy, and twins Esther and Stella. The adorable twins looked too cute at dinner in matching dresses.

Rocco is the son of Madonna and English film director Guy Ritchie. He was eight years old when they decided to end their marriage, and he had to travel between New York and London to spend time with them. He went on tour with Madonna and even danced on stage, but by 2015 he lost interest. She told Entertainment Weekly at the time that her son wasn’t “interested in performing” with her on stage, adding, “Your mum is not cool when you’re 14.

Soon after came a very public custody battle between Madonna and Guy. After the matter was settled privately Rocco stayed with him in London. He came into legal trouble in 2016 on suspicion of cannabis possession and following his arrest, Madonna told the Associated Press, “I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

The following week after his arrest people began wondering if the mother and son relationship was strained after he left a sassy comment on her IG post. Madonna shared a video completing the mannequin challenge when he wrote, “So glad I don’t live there anymore.” While he deleted the comment, the damage was done. Thankfully the mother and son have seemingly grown close over the last few years. In March of this year, they were spotted hanging out in London at a bar.
