Elsa Pataky knows how to take care of her skin. The 49-year-old Spanish actress has become a symbol of beauty and health, showcasing her healthy and active lifestyle that allows her to be a part of numerous Hollywood action productions. In a recent interview, she opened up about her love of skincare, something that was passed down to her by her mother.
Pataky's mother, Cristina Pataky Medianu, was the first to show her a structured beauty routine, which she still uses to this day.
"Ever since I was little, my mother has always been my inspiration," she said, as reported by the Spanish publication La Vanguardia.
"I loved to watch her follow her beauty routine, and it was from her that I learned how to take care of my skin. I fell in love with skincare through her and it's something that I love to this day. I love that it's a habit that stuck with me."
Pataky then revealed her mother's and her own skincare secret: "To care for skin, her secret is to keep it simple. Serum, hydrating cream, sunblock, and tons of water."
Beauty care that goes beyond the surface
Aside from caring for her skin, Pataky has long spoken about the perks of exercise and leading an active lifestyle. She and her husband, Chris Hemsworth, often speak up about the benefits of practicing various sports, with the two developing the fitness app Centr.
"The reason we created this program was to bring together all the people we think are really good in fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness," Pataky said in an interview with Women's Health UK.
"I think those three things are important to keep healthy and happy. Chris put it together, but I wanted to be a part of it, too."
She participates in a variety of sports and activities, including horseback riding, surfing, yoga, weight training, boxing, and more. Hemsworth revealed that the two often train together, with Pataky being a better boxer than he is.
“She’s relentless, she doesn’t quit...she can bash me in a fight,” he said to E! News.
