Queen Máxima brought her signature colorful style to Ghana, stepping out in a vibrant coral ensemble for a special meeting with the King of the Ashanti, Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II.
The Dutch royal, who is visiting the West African country in her role as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Financial Health, made a memorable fashion statement as she attended the royal engagement.
For the occasion, Máxima selected a flowing, floor-length outfit featuring an intricate paisley print in shades of coral, cream, gray and olive green. The eye-catching design featured long sleeves, a plunging neckline with olive-toned trim and a coordinating woven belt that cinched her waist.
She completed the look with statement dangling earrings, open-toe heels and a structured brown handbag. Her blonde hair was swept into an elegant updo, allowing her accessories and the colorful pattern of her outfit to take center stage.
The ensemble was a fitting choice for the occasion, with its rich colors and elaborate patterns complementing the vibrant traditional textiles worn by members of the Ashanti royal court.
Queen Máxima meets the King of the Ashanti:
During her visit, Queen Máxima met with Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, the traditional ruler of the Asante people, and his wife, Lady Julia.
Photographs from the engagement showed the Dutch queen sharing smiles with the king inside an elaborately decorated room featuring ornate golden furniture, deep red velvet upholstery and colorful textiles.
In one image, Máxima was photographed seated on an impressive gold throne beside the king, who wore a traditional green, yellow and black patterned cloth.
The queen was also seen greeting the monarch and posing alongside members of the Ashanti royal court, whose brightly colored traditional garments created a striking visual backdrop.
The visit offered a glimpse into the traditions of the Asante Kingdom, one of Ghana's most historically significant traditional institutions.
A royal visit with an important mission:
Beyond her fashionable appearance, Máxima's trip to Ghana is centered on her work promoting financial health and improving access to financial services.
As the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Financial Health, the queen works to raise awareness of the importance of helping individuals and families manage their finances, build resilience and plan for the future.
Her visit to Ghana highlights the international dimension of her work, which regularly takes her beyond the Netherlands to meet with government officials, financial institutions and local communities.
And while her diplomatic mission remains the focus of the trip, Máxima once again demonstrated her flair for combining royal elegance with bold colors and statement-making prints.
