Queen Máxima of the Netherlands once again proved why she remains one of Europe's most daring royal dressers, stepping out in a striking monochromatic green ensemble for the official opening of the country's largest commercial battery park in Lelystad.
The Dutch queen embraced rich emerald-inspired tones from head to toe, effortlessly blending fashion with one of the Netherlands' most significant sustainability milestones as she inaugurated the new ENGIE battery park at the Máxima Power Station.
A head-to-toe green statement:
For the engagement, Queen Máxima wore a sleeveless forest-green shift dress that stood out thanks to its playful raffia fringe hemline, adding movement and texture to the otherwise minimalist silhouette.
She elevated the look with a coordinating green pillbox-style headpiece that matched the dress perfectly, while suede emerald pumps completed the tonal ensemble.
The royal also carried an intricately embroidered evening clutch featuring metallic beadwork in shades of gold, bronze and green, adding a luxurious contrast to the monochromatic palette.
Emerald jewelry completes the look:
The standout finishing touches came through Queen Máxima's jewelry choices. She accessorized with elegant emerald-green gemstone earrings set in diamonds, coordinating them with an oversized emerald cocktail ring that became one of the focal points of the look.
She completed the ensemble with a sparkling diamond tennis bracelet and a gold watch layered on one wrist, balancing timeless royal elegance with her signature fashion-forward style.
An effortlessly polished beauty look:
For her beauty look, Queen Máxima swept her blonde hair into a sleek low updo that allowed her matching green headpiece to take center stage.
Her makeup remained fresh and natural, featuring softly defined eyes, rosy cheeks, and a soft pink lip that complemented the vibrant green color palette without competing with it. The understated beauty look highlighted her radiant complexion while allowing the bold fashion choices to remain the focus.
Marking a major milestone for the Netherlands:
Beyond the fashion, Queen Máxima officially inaugurated the Netherlands' largest commercial battery storage park at ENGIE's Máxima Power Station in Lelystad.
The cutting-edge installation provides 100 MWh of operational battery storage using 160 lithium-ion battery containers and can continuously supply 35 MW of electricity for up to three hours, enough to power the city's more than 85,000 residents during that period.
Designed to store excess solar and wind energy before releasing it during periods of high demand, the project represents a major step in strengthening the country's electricity grid as the Netherlands continues its transition toward cleaner energy.
