Princess Tatiana of Greece’s appearance at Cannes has drawn fresh attention, placing her once again at the center of Europe’s social spotlight. At the amfAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival, she arrived alongside Mexican real estate billionaire Elías Sacal, an outing that immediately prompted renewed speculation about her private life.
The pair’s joint appearance, composed yet notably warm in tone, quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the evening. Tatiana, dressed in a flowing powder pink gown with an attached cape and silver jewelry, stood out on the red carpet as cameras captured her beside Sacal.
According to reports, they were also seen together in Cannes ahead of the gala, including time spent in Cap d’Antibes, further fueling public curiosity.
Sacal is a prominent figure in international real estate, serving as President of Grupo Gicsa. His presence at high-profile cultural and social events has made him a familiar name within elite circles, particularly across Latin America and Europe. His background in luxury development and philanthropy has positioned him as a frequent figure in global high-society environments.
The Cannes appearance also comes at a significant moment in Princess Tatiana’s personal life. In April 2024, she and Prince Nikolaos of Greece announced the end of their 14-year marriage, a development that drew widespread attention across royal and international media.
The transition became more public when Prince Nikolaos later became engaged and married Greek shipping heiress Chrysí Vardinogiánni in February 2025.
During the same period, Tatiana was also facing personal distress due to the unresolved disappearance of her brother, Attilio Brillembourg, in the United States, adding another layer of difficulty to an already challenging time.
Despite the changes in her personal life, Tatiana has maintained her position within the former Greek royal family. Crown Prince Pavlos confirmed that she would retain her title as Princess of Greece and Denmark, an uncommon arrangement for a divorced royal spouse in modern European royal circles.
She has remained based in Athens, where she continues her work in mental health advocacy through her organization Breathe Hellas. Her focus on emotional wellbeing initiatives remains a central part of her public life and ongoing philanthropic activity.
Tatiana has also spoken publicly about the emotional weight of recent years. In an interview with BHMagazino, she said, “Everything happened at the same time,” describing the period as “an avalanche of changes in front of everyone.”
In the time since, she has continued to reflect on identity and change. She wrote on Instagram, “Last year I lost another layer of identity,” and added, “But maybe identity isn’t something we lose, it’s something we evolve, rediscover and redefine. So I’m taking my own advice and taking a step back before moving forward.”
Even amid these personal transitions, she has retained a visible presence in international social and fashion circles, including recent public appearances that signal a gradual return to the global stage.
At Cannes, however, it was her appearance with Elías Sacal that drew the most attention. While neither has publicly confirmed the nature of their relationship, their joint presence has already become one of the most discussed royal-adjacent moments of the festival season, marking a new point of public interest in the princess’s evolving personal story.
