Almost a year has passed since Princess Märtha Louise and Shaman Durek Verrett exchanged vows in a spectacular wedding that was covered exclusively by ¡HOLA! and HELLO! The couple now celebrates their first anniversary after starting a new and long-awaited chapter together in Norway, just as they are about to release a Netflix documentary about their unusual love story.

The daughter of King Harald confirmed to the newspaper BilletBladet that her husband has finally moved to the Nordic country, and she is thrilled to have him close. “I love that he is in Norway; he moved here. He is here 24/7, and I think it is fantastic,” she said. Until recently, the Shaman lived in Los Angeles, and the couple made their long-distance relationship work. The documentary shows that their story has never been ordinary, but this was not the most common situation.

Netflix has just announced the title of the production: Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story. The cameras followed the couple for a year leading up to their spectacular wedding at the Geiranger Fjord. Verrett shared the news to his followers, emphasizing that not every crown conforms to a standard: "Not every crown fits the mold. Not every love follows the rules. Not every royal story stays in the palace."

According to Märtha Louise's husband, the documentary, which delves into their daily life, their rituals, and the spirituality that defines them as a couple, is also “a reminder that love always wins” and that “truth always makes its way through tradition.” His words are especially revealing considering the controversy their relationship sparked in Norway, which ultimately led the Princess to step down from her royal duties so she could pursue projects and commercial ventures with Durek Verrett without compromising the institution.

“A love that dared to defy expectations. A union written in spirit and courage. Now brought to the world with the brilliance only Netflix can deliver,” shaman Durek shared on his profile.

Even so, new times are unfolding for the Princess and the shaman, especially after Märtha Louise let go of one of the last ties to her past. It was the family home in Lommedalen, about 30 kilometers from Oslo, where she lived with her late ex-husband Ari Behn, who passed away at Christmas in 2019, and their three daughters. Selling the house was not easy, as the real estate market resisted until the very last moment.

In the end, after a significant price cut, she sold it for just over one and a half million euros. Horses, skiing, golf, and outdoor activities are all accessible within five minutes. The house loves children’s laughter, game nights, movies, music, birthday parties, family dinners, and sleepovers. We have so much to thank this beautiful home for,” the Princess said. Her daughter Leah commented, “The best place,” while her husband, shaman Durek, added that he would miss that “sanctuary.”
