At Centre Court on Saturday, spectators were treated not just to the thrilling Wimbledon Ladies' Singles final but also to a rare royal fashion statement. The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, made headlines by wearing all four of her signature rings together for the very first time.
Her appearance, during Iga Swiatek’s victory over Amanda Anisimova, was a style moment as much as a sporting one. Dressed in an elegant cream Self-Portrait dress and Cartier earrings, Kate offered a surprise twist, wearing her engagement ring, two eternity bands, and her Welsh gold wedding ring, all stacked in unison.
For royal fans, this was more than a style update. Over the past year, Kate’s ring choices have subtly reflected different chapters in her personal life. The return of her iconic sapphire engagement ring (once worn by Princess Diana), sparked emotional reactions, especially after its long absence during her recent health journey.
“On the court, she congratulated me and said some nice stuff about my performance,” Swiatek said later during a press conference. “I didn’t want to make a faux pas. Since I was a kid, I’ve been a big fan of the royals.”
Meanwhile, Amanda Anisimova, whom Kate comforted after her 6-0, 6-0 defeat, reflected on the encounter. “I wasn’t sure if she was going to come out today, if she was going to be there, so it’s just really nice to see her. She definitely had a few things to say that were making me emotional again. She was really kind and she told me to keep my head high.”
The Princess’s ring stack is rich with history. Her wedding band, made of Welsh gold, was co-designed with Prince William. One of the eternity rings, an elegant diamond piece, is believed to have been a gift marking Prince George’s birth.
The latest addition, widely believed to be Cartier’s Étincelle de Cartier wedding band, features alternating diamonds and sapphires and reportedly marked the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary.
Kate first wore the new Cartier band publicly in late 2024, in a video message from Anmer Hall congratulating Team GB on their Olympic performance. At the time, her usual engagement ring was noticeably absent, a change that continued during various public appearances following her cancer diagnosis announcement in March 2024.
