Princess Isabella of Denmark received a special gift for her 18th birthday. The Princess' paternal grandmother Queen Margrethe II, who abdicated last year, gifted her oldest granddaughter a turquoise and diamond tiara. The dazzling gift from her grandmother, whose nickname is Daisy, is made of gold and adorned with 11 rosettes of daisy-like flowers made of turquoise and diamonds.

According to the Danish Royal House, the bandeau tiara "was made in the late 19th century and belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. After her untimely death in 1920, her daughter, Princess Ingrid, received the tiara as a confirmation gift and brought it to Denmark upon her marriage to the later Frederik IX."

Not only can Isabella's tiara be worn as a headband, but it can also be disassembled and used as a bracelet.

Isabella wore her dazzling gift in her first-ever official gala portraits, which were released on Monday to mark her milestone birthday. The glamorous images were taken in the Great Hall of Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg. In the portraits, the Princess, who was dressed in an orange off-the-shoulder gown, teamed her tiara with matching turquoise and diamond earrings. Isabella also wore the Order of the Elephant with a star chest.

Isabella turned 18 on April 21, 2025. Ahead of her big day, the Princess' birthday was fêted with celebrations in Aarhus and Copenhagen. At the first event hosted by the city of Aarhus on April 11, the Danish Princess delivered a speech, saying (translated to English), "Dear Mayor, dear Aarhus, dear everyone who has come together today. Thank you so much for a very special birthday celebration. It makes me really happy to be celebrated in a city that has great meaning to me and my family. Here I have celebrated Christmas and Easter, taken walks in the garden and by the water, and enjoyed myself in the old town since I was little."

"I have many good memories from Aarhus, today I have another. And there will definitely be more after that. Thank you for the dance and music, the show and the cake. I have pursued many hobbies myself, and it has been a shortcut to joy, friendship and community for me. I am sure it is for you too," she continued. "Thank you for the birthday song, a whole book of greetings and for the beautiful piece of jewelry. The fact that you have chosen to celebrate me, and that so many have come together, makes me happy and touched. You should know that it means a lot to me."

Isabella is Queen Mary and King Frederik's second child. The 18-year-old Princess is second in line to the Danish throne, after her older brother Crown Prince Christian.
