The Luxembourg Royal family has a lot to celebrate with their newest bundle of joy Prince Charles. On May 10, 2020, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and wife Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie welcomed their first child and the new heir to the throne (right after his dad). Prince Charles is the fifth grandchild for Grand Duke Henri and his wife Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. The happy couple released adorable pictures of their baby boy as they adjust to their new journey as first-time parents. They also released the cutest photo of Grand Duke Henri, Prince Charles and Prince Charles showcasing three generations of Luxembourg heirs.

Prince Charles was born on May 10, 2020, at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxembourg City. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Prince Charles met his grandparents through a virtual call as quarantine safety measures were still in place at the time of his birth.

Prince Charles’ parents Guillaume and Stephanie got married in October 2012 after dating for two years. Guillaume is first-in-line to the throne and is now followed by his son, his brother Prince Felix and Guillaume’s six-year-old niece Princess Amalia.

The royal parents announced via Twitter the arrival of their newborn son. “The Heir Couple is delighted to announce the birth of their son this Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 5.13 a.m. at the Maternity Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg. He will bear the first names of Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume. The child weighs 3.190 kg [~7.03] and is 50 cm tall [~19.6 inches],” announced the official Grand Ducale Court.

It is reported Prince Guillaume and former-Belgian Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy reconntected at a party in 2009, but kept their relationship on the down-low so that it would develop organically. On April 26, 2012, Prince Guillaume announced his engagement and the rest is history.
