Adding vegetables and fruits to our diet is the perfect start for a healthy lifestyle. If we want to be more mindful about the foods we are incorporating into our meals, we might want to take into account vision-healthy foods.

“Some nutrients keep the eye healthy overall, and some have been found to reduce the risk of eye diseases,” Rebecca J. Taylor, MD, and ophthalmologist said to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She also explained that supplements are not necessary if these foods are part of our diet. “In general, most Americans can and should get enough nutrients through their diet without needing to take supplements.”
