Lilian Rincon has spent much of her career working on technology that millions of people use every day. In March 2026, the Venezuelan-born executive joined Apple as vice president of Product Marketing for AI, taking responsibility for product marketing and managing AI experiences across the company, including Apple Intelligence and Siri. Her appointment came as Apple prepared to introduce one of its biggest advances in artificial intelligence.
Lilian was nine when her family moved from Venezuela to Vancouver, Canada. Arriving in a new country without speaking English wasn’t easy, especially as the only Spanish speaker in her ESL class. She gravitated toward math, where numbers made more sense than words, and found a way to connect with her classmates through volleyball. The sport eventually earned her a university scholarship, taking her to Simon Fraser University, where she studied computing science and captained the volleyball team.
Lilian went on to work at Microsoft and Skype before joining Google in 2017. There, she took charge of product development for Google Assistant, which had reached 500 million monthly users by 2020. She later became vice president of product for Google Shopping, where she continued exploring how AI could make shopping easier. In 2025, her team introduced new features that allowed people to search for products using images and virtually try on clothes and makeup.
At Apple, Lilian is part of the team introducing a new generation of Siri. Unveiled in September 2026, the updated assistant goes beyond answering questions. It can use information from messages, emails and photos to understand what someone is asking, recognize what's on their iPhone screen and handle tasks across different apps. Apple has also made privacy a priority, using on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute to help protect personal information. The rollout began in English in September, with Spanish launching this October, alongside other languages.
Lilian offered another glimpse into Apple’s thinking when the brand unveiled its HomeView smart-home hub in New York. Speaking about Siri AI, she explained that the goal isn’t to keep people chatting with their devices for as long as possible, but to help them get things done without unnecessary back-and-forth.
For Lilian, who experienced the importance of language and connection from an early age, this new chapter feels especially meaningful. As Apple introduces more personal and intuitive technology to people around the world, she is helping make everyday interactions with AI easier and more natural.
