Camila Cabello

Her song Bam Bam reached the Top 5 of the Billboard Global 200 Chart, the highest for the singer at this time.

Camila Cabello, born Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao on March 3, 1997, has made herself a household name. The Cuban-born American singer and songwriter got her start after auditioning for The X- Factor in 2012. The show saw the birth of the all-girl group Fifth Harmony, and after finishing third, they signed a joint deal and began releasing music. But Cabello would soon go solo with the announcement of her departure in 2016.

Cabello quickly began releasing music, establishing herself as a solo artist, collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, like Pitbull, J Balvin, Bruno Mars, and Pharrell Williams. Camila relesased her first studio album in 2018, which was self titled, and began receiving recognition for her work interntionally.

She has received approximately 175 nominations, and has 94 awards over her career, including two Latin Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards, and one Billboard Music Award. She became the first female to ever open the Grammys in 2018 with her performance of “Havana” with guests Ricky Martin, Balvin and Young Thug. In October 2021, she became the first Hispanic woman to receive Diamond certification by the RIAA for her song “Havana.”

The powerhouse’s career expanded outside of music into film in 2021 with the adaptation of Cinderella, which showcased her acting and singing skills. It was the most-watched streaming movie over the Labour Day weekend and the most-watched movie musical yet in 2021.

2022 has been an exciting year for Cabello, who released her third studio album Familia on April 8th. Her song Bam Bam, featuring Ed Sheeran, reached the Top 5 of the Billboard Global 200 Chart, which is the highest for the singer at this time.

Cabello served as a mentor for John Legends’ team on The Voice last season, but she is officially joining the show. It was announced in May, the “Señorita” singer is replacing the talented Kelly Clarkson, joining renowned singers Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani.

Aside from arts, Cabello is also a philanthropist and an outspoken advocate for climate change. She recruited over 60 adits to sign an open letter to several entertainment companies calling on them to ask Congress to pass President Biden’s climate action. In May 2022, she also launched and hosted a benefit concert to support the emergency “Protect Our Kids” fund and, she has teamed with Lambda Legal and Equality Florida to help protect LGBTQ+ students and their families.
