Regina Merson

For this businesswoman, a telenovela, and her mother’s daily makeup routine inspired her to build one of the best-selling Latina-owned makeup lines

Regina Merson was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She discovered her passion for makeup at a very young age. After watching the telenovela “Rosa Salvaje” and her mother’s daily makeup routine, Merso learned to transform herself into one fiercely strong woman. But it wasn‘t until she was ten years old when she ran into a sparkling lipstick when she started associating makeup with the word “Fuerza” (Strength).

When she moved to the United States, she took her obsession to grow her makeup collection. “Years of makeup hoarding later, my collection is equal parts wild and unpredictable, bold and impractical, feminine and luxurious, sexy and severe,” the businesswoman revealed. After experiencing the complexities of being a Mexican woman embracing the amazing American life, studying at Yale University, and quitting her career as a bankruptcy lawyer, she took Frida Kahlo as inspiration and gave birth to Reina Rebelde, a makeup line dedicated to the unapologetic woman who embodies and celebrates all her powerful dualities.

The brand equally celebrates women’s beauty of her Reina and the fierceness of her Rebelde.

“I created this collection of products with built-in versatility to give life to our many dualities, full of provocative shades that deliver the boldness and passion that we bring to the rituals of applying them, and that will take us from glamorous to fierce, aspirational to trailblazing, messy to polished, and allow us to unapologetically and authentically share our Reina Rebelde essence with the world.”

Regina said, “Reina Rebelde is proud to be a Latina-owned and operated business.”
