Pedro Pascal recently stepped into Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen for a YouTube cooking challenge, only to be defeated by one of the most basic culinary tasks: chopping onions. Joined by his The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby, Pascal faced the high-pressure environment of Ramsay’s kitchen and immediately ran into trouble.
While filming the “sausage and mash” challenge for the 58-year-old chef’s YouTube channel, Pascal struggled to hold the knife correctly and couldn’t cut through the onions as instructed.
As diners watched, Ramsay eventually handed him a bowl of pre-chopped onions to keep things moving.
Pascal’s flub quickly became the comedic centerpiece of the video, with fans joking it was like “living every single person’s worst nightmare of cooking in front of Gordon Ramsay.”
Kirby, who is always very supportive of Pascal, chimed in playfully on social media: “Just now in an interview, I learned Pedro is a bad cook.”
Still, the Mandalorian star didn’t let the onion debacle ruin the moment. With charm and self-awareness, Pascal bounced back by impersonating celebrity chef Salt Bae, theatrically seasoning food to reclaim his confidence.

The challenge was wrapped in a friendly draw, no records broken, but plenty of laughs exchanged.
Behind the humor, Pascal also shared a sweet backstage story about co-star Ebon Moss‑Bachrach, saying: “Ebon…would actually make stuff and bring it to set and like feed us.”
The cooking segment showcased more than Ramsay’s famously intense mentorship; it highlighted Pascal’s good-natured humor, camaraderie, and resilience. Though onions proved to be his Achilles’ heel, the actor’s personality won fans over and earned him a memorable place in Ramsay’s culinary world.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, The Thing.
The film follows the team as they gain extraordinary powers after a cosmic accident during a space expedition. Together, they must confront the looming threat of Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson), who is bent on destroying Earth.
