Miami’s thriving Brickell neighborhood has new dining options thanks to Bad Bunny, David Grutman, and Groot Hospitality. The award-winning and world’s most streamed recording artist and the restauranteur just opened their collaborative new restaurant Gekkō.

According to the information shared with HOLA! USA, the Japanese-inspired steakhouse, serves the world’s finest cuts of Wagyu beef alongside innovative and elevated sushi offerings, luxe twists on chophouse staples, all-new custom cocktails, and much more.

Gekkō —from Japanese to English as “moonlight” — is also home to a dedicated lounge by the same name, bringing an inventive, intimate nightlife venue to the heart of the city’s social scene.

“Sitting down with friends to enjoy a good meal is one of the moments I value the most. I am thrilled that now I will have a hand in creating this experience for others,” says Bad Bunny.

Gekkō’s menu fuses a steakhouse’s sociable and beloved cuisine with the precision and modernity of Japanese cooking. This begins with shared plates–including signature Japanese milk bread and a “Lava and Ice” Kumamoto Oyster–before progressing to starters, seafood, and steak.

Appetizer standouts include Lobster Dumplings and an imaginative new take on a Wedge salad–now with yuzu buttermilk ranch dressing. Raw plates, sushi, and sashimi highlights include Hokkaido Scallops and an exclusive new Groot Hospitality invention: 24k Otoro.

“Gekkō is the result of so many of my obsessions in food,” says David Grutman, Founder of Groot Hospitality. “It’s a steakhouse inspired by Japanese cuisine. There are delicious, innovative sushi rolls. There’s a lounge. I knew I wanted to do something that combined these worlds, and once I started speaking with Bunny, I knew he’d be a great partner. Gekkō is about having an incredible meal while having an equally incredible night.”

Multiple premium steaks anchor the menu, including a Tomahawk cut, olive-fed filet mignon from Kagawa, Japan, and a snow beef strip from Hokkaido, Japan. Specialty preparations include Wagyu Skirt Steak and a Bone-In Ribeye. And, in Groot Hospitality fashion, there’s something for everyone–main dishes include Creamy and Spicy Lobster, Daring plant-based chicken, and more.

Gekkō seats up to 185 diners across a lushly decorated, seamlessly blended indoor-outdoor flow. The space has been designed by Rockwell Group, the New York City-based architecture and design firm.

It features jewel-toned and plush decor rendered in a darkened palette yet interspersed with moments of radiating luminosity.

Stylistic elements–including a custom gold and red dip-dyed rope installation, graphic wall coverings, and velvet drapery–enhance Gekkō’s magnetism and nighttime atmosphere. At the same time, backlit cutouts and bars bring an energized charge to the air.

Gekkō is located at 8 SE 8th Street, Miami, FL 33131
