Knitwear at its finest is here to set the trend

Any knit piece that has a loose silhouette and the typical argyle print—which originated in menswear—will be in style, especially those created by British designer Molly Goddard, which are preferred both by millennials and socialites.

One of the fashion companies that made knitwear their flagship fabric is Missoni. This fall, their line includes suits made with classic zigzag and diagonal stitches, matching with sweaters, belts, and even over-the-knee stockings.

Chain stitching could also be seen in the more edgy designs, which bring together hundreds of multicolored yarns in suits that can be worn during the day, afternoon, and night. The best example? The knitted dresses by Stella McCartney.

Prepare for the change of seasons with the Cable-knit Wool-blend Sweater by H&M ($59.99), one of the must-haves to put together preppy-style looks. Pair it with jeans, short skirts, or paper bag shorts and you’ll have an outfit that’s a ten out of ten.

Another style that is taking hold in fashion trends is the fusion of ribbing and geometric patterns. Show off your figure in the Striped ribbed-knit turtleneck dress by MCQ Alexander McQueen. Its slim-fit cut requires more simple accessories (Net-a-Porter $267).

Knitwear is not limited to just crochet scarves. The straight-across neckline tops, which allow delicate shapes to be seen that can’t be made with sewing, are also the perfect addition for your closet, like the Textured Off-The-Shoulder Top by Zara ($39.90).

There’s nothing like a coat that makes for a statement piece and helps you to stand out. Just like the Betty Duster by Tularosa (Revolve, $168). Since it is a hybrid between more formal Japanese kimonos and American cardigans, you can reinvent your wardrobe this fall.
