We're in the midst of Hispanic Heritage Month. It officially kicked off on September 15th, celebrating the history and cultural contributions of Hispanic Americans whose roots trace back to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. On Tubi, they're celebrating with free movies and shows.

There are also plenty of family titles, making movie night with kids a perfect option for your weekend.
Everything is free to watch, requiring no subscription. Many titles are available in English, in Spanish, or both. They include Jennifer Lopez's beloved breakout film, "Selena," Robert Rodriguez's "El Mariachi" and its sequel, "Desperado," which starred Antonio Banderas and gave Salma Hayek her Hollywood breakout, and more.
There's also "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," the blockbuster film starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, directed by Spanish filmmaker J.A. Bayona.

© Getty ImagesHispanic Heritage Month began in the late '60s, under Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency, as a week-long celebration. Two decades later, it was expanded into a month-long celebration by President Ronald Reagan, giving people more time to recognize the contributions made by Latinos and Hispanics in the country.
Today, Latinos are the largest racial or ethnic minority in the country, making up 21% of the total U.S. population, or about one in five Americans. The month's timing isn't random. September 15 is the anniversary of independence for numerous Latin countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their own independence on September 16 and 18.
The next few weeks make the perfect excuse to revisit a classic or introduce kids to a title that your grandma or your dad hasn't stopped talking about. Best of all, it's free!
