Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams is back! Netflix’s latest tease brings back the iconic character’s signature gloom but takes it international. The streaming giant’s post shows Wednesday standing near the Eiffel Tower while holding a mysterious piece of paper. The trip also shows Thing by her side.
The caption reads: “From Paris, with dread.” Igniting a fresh wave of speculation about season three.
“MG!!!! Is Wednesday a meeting with Emily in Paris?” a fan asked. “Can't Wait for Season 3! and... Uncle Fester Spin-off!” another fan added.
The Plot Thickens
Some people might consider this post as just a random postcard moment; however, the Paris setting feels like a deliberate continuation of where things left off. Spoiler alert: Season two closed with Wednesday defeating Isaac and freeing Tyler.
After that scene, Wednesday didn’t exactly settle down; instead, she sped off with Uncle Fester, brought to life by Fred Armisen, riding in his motorcycle sidecar.
Watchers probably thought they were heading to Canada to try to find Enid. But now, Netflix’s post-sudden pivot to Paris.
Theories Taking Over
Fans are also connecting the dots, as Enid, played by Emma Myers, was last seen stuck in her werewolf form. So now, watchers wonder if Paris holds the key to reversing that condition.
Ophelia is also part of the conversation, especially now that it has been revealed she was alive. She is potentially dangerous, which can make Wednesday feel a sense of urgency. Could Paris be a battleground?
Despite the excitement, the premiere date is one key detail that remains locked away. Netflix hasn’t confirmed when Wednesday’s Paris chapter will officially begin.
Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder reunite for ‘Wednesday’ Season 3
While we all figure out why Wednesday is in Paris, two generations of gothic charm will reunite. Winona Ryder, the iconic star of 1980s and ’90s cult classics, is confirmed to join the series for its third season in what promises to be an unexpected but delightfully eerie collaboration.
What makes this pairing more special is that they previously worked together in 2024’s "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," where Ortega played Ryder’s on-screen daughter. During a conversation with The New York Times’ The Interview podcast, Ortega said, “The way Winona and I got along was quite weird. It was like we were reading each other’s minds a little bit. She’s warm and welcoming and kind and inviting from the start.”
Tim Burton, who directed "Beetlejuice" and the sequel, called the reunion “extra special,” saying, “The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah… makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”
Netflix confirmed that production for Season 3 has begun near Dublin, Ireland. And now, with the reunion of Ryder and Ortega, the magic of Nevermore Academy is officially coming to life again.
