The "Predator" franchise is in a good place. Long gone are the movies that pitted scary monsters against eachother with middling degrees of success. Ever since Dan Trachtenberg signed on to the franchise, "Predator" movies have had some fun and inventive filmmaking. This weekend, "Predator: Badlands" is in theaters. Tratchenberg's first "Predator" film, largely responsible for the boon in interest in the long-dead franchise, is streaming on Hulu.

Materialists (HBO Max)
